10 Things to Do While Visiting Savannah,GA

Savannah,GA is such a beautiful and peaceful place to visit! The mossy trees, Southern hospitality, and historic sites make it a worthwhile way to spend a weekend getaway. Here are our 10 favorite things to do while we visit:

  1. Visit the Andrew Low house– This home has some beautiful architectural details and some great history tied to the founder of Girl Scouts of America. Here you can get Girl Scout cookies year round!
  2. Checkout the beautiful Wormsloe Plantation
  3. Tour Tybee Island Light Station And Museum– Light houses are gorgeous with even more amazing views. This one is the oldest and tallest in all of Georgia!
  4. Love tours but don’t feel like walking in the Southern heat? Then the Segway tours are a great option for you! Riding a Segway would be an experience all by itself!
  5. Make a pit stop to the smallest church in America– It’s such a cute little building!
  6. The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is my favorite thing to see in Savannah. You don’t have to be religious to appreciate its beauty!
  7. Old Savannah Tours are a great way to learn the history of the town from a local.
  8. For shopping a night life head to the City Market . There’s so much to do, and tons of unique things to shop for here.
  9. If you’re a fan of military history then check out Fort Pulaski where you’ll learn more about the Civil War and defenses against oversees enemies.
  10. Eat a picnic lunch at Forsyth Park A beautiful park is the perfect place to take a break from site-seeing and refuel.

I’ve never been to Georgia except when I was younger, so I do not recall much of our trip. It must be so nice to live and visit there. I bet their southern hospitality is just wonderful!

I enjoyed hanging out on Tybee Island. I love that it has such an important history. I do wish the water was prettier, but its warm.

I agree that the water isn’t the prettiest, but the history does make up for it.

I’ve been through Savannah a few times, but I’ve never stopped to explore. Here’s a starting point for exploring the next time I get the opportunity. 😀

Loved the photos! Always wanted to visit Georgia ever since I read ‘Gone with the Wind’. Love places that are rich in history and have that little bit of old world charm.

My wife loves to see buildings os historical significance or have great architectural designs when we go on trips. I think she will love to see the baptist church.

This place is on my bucket list. I read a book once titled “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”. I am not sure if the author’s description of the city is accurate but it sounds like a historically rich place to see.
