6 Money Saving Apps

I’m a pretty big fan of sticking to my budget and saving money. These apps are very easy to use, and you can get cash back on things that you would normally buy anyways!

  1. Ibotta– this app is very easy to use. Download it, set up an account, unlock “deals” (coupons), then go grocery shopping! After you shop scan your receipt and you’ll get money back. Once you reach $20 you can cash out into a PayPal account or in the form of gift cards.
  2. Walmart app– this one is, obviously, Walmart specific. One you’re done shopping scan your receipt and if they find a lower price on the items anywhere else then they’ll pay you back the difference.
  3. Checkout 51– It works the same way as Ibotta, but it usually has a different variety of products so I make sure to use both.
  4. Retail Me Not– the app works a little different from the others. You type in the store name, find a coupon that you’d like to use, then either type in the code online for the deal, or have the cashier scan the coupon on your phone.
  5. Swagbucks– my favorite! You get paid for taking surveys, watching videos, and shopping. You can get this in app form, but I usually do most of it from a desktop where there are more options to earn points.
  6. GoodRx– Type your location and prescription drug name into the app and it will tell you the cheapest pharmacy in town to get it from.

What are some of your favorite ways to save money?

I use Ibotta and it’s great. I just wish it had a greater reward for grocery shopping but it seems to mostly benefit those who buy beer and other higher priced items at the supermarket.

I’ve been meaning to try the ibotta app. I wonder if it’s worth it for our monthly purchases.

I’m using a totally different app but I find it too weird. I’d probably try one on your list and hope they’ll suit my needs better.

I’ve never heard of any of these apps! I wonder if they can be used in the UK too, or if we’ve got a UK equivalent. Great idea!

Other than Swagbucks, I’ve never heard of any of the other apps! I’ll definitely have to check them out when I’ve got a spare 5 minutes 🙂

Ibotta– is my favorite. I like the PayPal payout more than a gift card. Then I head over to Amazon! By the way, the “swagbucks” sound almost like Starbucks 🙂

My favourite way to save money is to buy stuff when they are on sale and before I need them. Las month, I bought three pairs of old navy jeans for 9 bucks each. Best buys I ever made.

I really like the idea of Retail Me Not. Especially since it’s store specific, which is what I’d use most of the time. Can’t wait to check out some of the others!

I love posts like these! I have most of them on my phone right now. IMO, Ibotta is the best for making a little extra cash for sure!

My favourite way to save money is through budgeting. Sounds boring, but doing a good budget literally changed my financial life. I use an app called You Need a Budget (YNAB for short) and highly recommend it.

To save money when travelling, I couchsurf or use Warm Showers when I’m cycling. For me, that method of travelling isn’t just about saving money though; there’s so much more to it 🙂

Is there a reason that you do swagbucks from your computer? I tried it on my Phone but I got really fed-up after a while, maybe its better from a computer?

It is better from the computer. You can take surveys and watch videos from your phone though. I get the most points from surveys!

These are such nice applications. However, not sure if this will work in my country. But I heard some websites offering cash backs as well.
