Baby Registry Must Haves for the Car

I don’t mess around when it comes to car safety for my baby. We also travel a lot so it’s important for us to have a safe car seat and accessories to make our travel go a little smoother. Here are our favorites to add to your registry:

*This post may contain affiliate links, but every link leads you to products that I have used and love! Read the full disclosure here.*
  • Mirror– We love this backseat mirror for the car. It’s so nice being able to look in the rear view mirror and see what baby’s up to while rear facing.
  • Car seat– This one is kind of self-explanatory but we loved this infant car seat combo and this car seat was worth the investment.
  • Car seat protectorThis awesome seat protector goes underneath the baby car seat and protects the car seat from scratches, tears, and dirty feet. It also has a handy pocket to store things!
  • Toys– Any toy will do, but driving is a lot easier when the baby is entertained and not screaming.
  • Blanket– for those cold winter months I like to keep an extra blanket in the car in case we end up stranded. It also works great as a spit up rag or changing pad when I’m in a pinch.
  • Snacks– Snacks are a must for longer outings. It’s crazy how much a growing baby can eat in a day!
  • Sun Shades– I love this one because it doesn’t require suction cups.

It’s a pretty short list, but each of these items has made a world of difference in our travels! Having a fully stocked diaper bag can also be very helpful. You can read about how to create on here.

What are some of your must haves for the car?

Great tips and reminders for moms on the go. Car safety is crucial in this age of smartphone using drivers who don’t pay close attention to the road.

Blankets are always handy — especially when the A/C is on. We’ve thought about adding a mirror, but our van already comes with one.

It’s the little things that sometimes you don’t think about and then when the time comes you’re like “Should’ve thought about that!”
This list is so useful 🙂

This is really helpful. Everything that you’ve mentioned on your list is really very useful when travelling with a baby. You can also add an extra set of clothes for an accidental mess.

I love that you mentioned blankets!! You NEVER know what might happen in the middle of winter. Heaven forbid you get stuck somewhere without heat and you need to stay warm until help arrives. We always keep blankets, it’s definitely a great tip!

This list is great as a baby shower reference tool! I feel like most people don’t always think of car tool when they shop for babies, but they are so necessary!

I totally agree that safety in the car is in a first place! I remember when I was an au-pair I didn’t move an inch without making sure everybody is all buckled up. Thanks for this post 🙂 I might use it when I have kids!

You list is so true! I wish I had picked up some sun shades when I had babies. We did always have tons of toys though, plus a mirror.

Sun shades seem so small, but I can’t tell you how badly we needed them when my daughter was born! Such a great idea!

Music! LOL goes without saying I guess. I also found that sticking one of the baby’s siblings (or dad!) in the back seat with her helps to keep her occupied as well. 🙂

I should get a mirror for my car! The blanket really is a good one. I have an extra set of clothes in a grocery bag in my car. My first boy was the worst at having blow out and we had at least one every day for a while. And now that potty has been going rough an extra set of clothes and a bag to put dirty clothes in is a life saver.

The mirror really has been a life saver! I love the advice of having a change of clothes and bags for the dirty ones. I usually keep them in my diaper bag though,so they don’t need to be stashed in the car. You can read my post on what’s in my diaper bag here.
